This DIY fire pit was such a fun project, of course, my husband did the heavy lifting! July long weekend is coming up! It’s time for celebrations, long warm nights, s’mores, and of course firelight. Whether you have one out camping in the woods, on the beach, or in your backyard, it is a great way to extend the party into the night.
While at the hardware store just recently, my husband turned to me with a sly twinkle in his eye and asked if I’d like a firepit. Well, of course I was all for it. We did a little research, and by that evening it was dug, gravelled and built. What seemed like a major undertaking was a surprisingly simple project.
Here’s how we did it.
Step 1: Measure out a circle, then cut and peel away the grass.
Step 2: Lay down gravel and layer your Bricks. Done!
When Mr.C had finished the construction, we went straight out for firewood. Unfortunately, prairie weather struck. In the 10 minutes it took us to go out and come back, the beautiful sunny day darkend and turned into a spectacular thunder storm.
I’ll have to post again to show you the pit in it’s full glory.
